Unix System Administrator

 

JOB SUMMARY (the purpose and general nature of the job)

 

This position will server as the subject matter expert in multiple areas which will include some combination of the following: scripting/automation, UNIX administration, storage administration, Disaster Recovery technologies, and Solaris administration.  

 

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:

·         Troubleshooting & resolving system issues

·         Project management and architecture/design.

·         Provide support in areas of Implementation and roll out.

·         Act as an escalation point for the operations and help desk teams.

·         Manage the various IT related projects assigned.

·         Evaluate and recommend initiatives and technology to improve IT infrastructure.

·         Analyze systems, issues and performance and make recommendations for improvement.

·        Perform maintenance of servers, operating systems, and applications.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

Minimal requirements for education, knowledge and experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in MIS or related field preferred

·         CCNA or Equivalent level of network knowledge

·         In-depth knowledge of Sun Unix

·         Strong enterprise server hardware experience

·         Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

·         Preference for a collaborative team environment

·         Ability to self-manage and follow through on tasks from inception to closure

·         Superior ability to clearly document complicated technical environments & concepts

·         SAN knowledge (LUN / Storage group creation & zoning)

·         Ability to automate & script repetitive tasks

·         IT assessment/audit experience (SOX, SAS70, etc.)

·         Disaster recovery technology / architecture / implementation / testing

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

 

·         Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week, which may include evenings and weekends

·         Could be on call 24/7 for operational  issues

IT Project Manager

 

 

Description:

SOURCECORP is seeking an IT Project Manager to provide leadership on assigned projects with the responsibility to coordinate the activities and deliverables in accordance with project requirements.  This position will ensure the success of the various IT projects for new implementations, changes to the existing infrastructure environment, or decommission of antiquated equipment.   This position will assist with the identification of key members working with various group managers as well as project sponsors.    This position will oversee the project management process including requirement definition, solution design, technical implementation, testing/qa, deployment, and project closure.

 

Role Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaison between business project sponsors and IT Technical resources
  • Responsible for the opening and closing of IT projects.
  • Development and maintenance of project management methodologies
  • Ability to assist with the gathering of project requirements, proposal generation, and statement of work preparation.
  • Responsible for the development and management of project schedules
  • Review and manage project artifacts
  • Responsible for gathering and approval of project change requests.
  • Delivery of key project milestones on time of budget and schedule.
  • Work with technical team to develop current environment and project options

Technical Requirements:

  • 5+ years of project management experience working with IT Infrastructure teams (Windows, Storage, and Network)
  • Knowledge about Window Server, VMware ESX,  Citrix,  Storage, or Voice and data networking concepts
  • Experience with the delivery of projects
  • Experience using Microsoft Project or similar project management tool. 

Additional Preferences:

  • PMI certification
  • ITIL Foundations certification

Messaging and Collaboration Specialist

 

Description:

SOURCECORP is seeking a “Messaging and Collaboration Specialist” to support our enterprise collaboration initiatives and messaging infrastructure.  They should have hands-on experience working with the hardware and software components of messaging systems such as Microsoft Exchange, Outlook, Active Directory, plus BlackBerry and other handheld devices.  In addition, knowledge and hands-on experience will collaboration tools and technology, such as Microsoft’s Office SharePoint Server 2007, Microsoft Office Live Communication Server and other collaboration technology.  Additional expectation of skills is a solid background in information systems technology and a working knowledge of data communication protocols.  The candidate must be detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving, communication and documentation skills, in addition to being able to lead and manage projects and work independently.  Additionally, they should have a strong technical knowledge and strength in multiple areas which include some combinations of the following: Wintel administration, enterprise monitoring and configuration management, storage administration, IIS and Disaster Recovery and IT Best Practice strategies and methodologies.  The candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing technology. This role is part of a mixed Business Applications team that reports to the enterprise Business Application Services Manager.

 

Role Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monthly Breakdown:
    • Approximately 20 to 40% troubleshooting & issue resolution
    • Approximately 20 to 70% project management and architecture/design.
    • Approximately 20 to 70% implementation and roll out.
  • Implementing, administering and maintaining electronic mail, including associated servers, operating systems, storage and backup and recovery programs.
  • Implementing and monitoring of collaboration systems, including SharePoint, corporate dashboard data mapping, translation and interface.
  • Coordinating relations and serving as liaison to internal users, vendors and other external partners.
  • Formulating and documenting standard procedures for messaging and collaboration solutions.
  • Identifying areas for enterprisewide system improvements and upgrades, including trending analysis and capacity planning.
  • Planning, documenting and testing appropriate messaging and collaboration related disaster recovery and/or business continuity systems.
  • Monitor systems, issues and performance; tune and troubleshoot where necessary.
  • Perform maintenance of servers, operating systems, and applications.
  • SME for the messaging and collaboration applications, acting as an escalation point for supporting teams.
  • Troubleshooting and fixing system problems and service requests, and providing high-level technical support for unresolved help desk issues.
  • Work project-oriented tasks as assigned.
  • Participate in the night-time / weekend on-call rotation and as needed (24x7) during business emergencies.
  • Review and suggest ways to streamline application workflow.
  • Participate in the enterprise-wide Active Directory integration of field locations into corporate domain structure.
